Andrew's Highlights

  • Hot Springs - Steamboat Springs is known for its, you guessed it, springs! There are two excellent places to enjoy the hot springs of Steamboat. The first in town at the Old Town Hot Springs. This is a large, resort style pool fed by hot springs, with waterslides, lap pools, and pool obstacle courses. The second is Strawberry Hot Springs. About a 20 minutes drive from Steamboat, these prestine natural springs are set in the forest, allowing you to relax and enjoy nature.
  • Hiking - Steamboat is surrounded by so many places to hike. It'd be impossible to cover all of them, but here are a few of the highlights: Fish Creek Falls - one of the most famous hikes near Steamboat. The trail to the lower falls is suitable for hikers of all levels, while going all the way to the upper falls will be more of a challenge. Rabbit Ears Pass is a great place to head up to, with numerous trails running through the forest. And if you're looking to summit a mountain, Hahns Peak has amazing views from the top. Here is a link with some more suggested hikes around Steamboat:
  • Tubing/Rafting - Hop on a tube in downtown Steamboat for a relaxing float down the Yampa River. For the more adventurous, there are several outfitters in town that can take you a little further out for some serious whitewater rafting.
